ANNUAL EVENTS
REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The 40th Annual General Meeting of the Regimental Association of The Queen's Own Buffs (PWRR) will be held at the UK Paper Leisure Club, Avenue of Remembrance, Sittingbourne on Saturday 30th May starting at 4.15 p.m. All members of the Association are encouraged to attend and will be made most welcome.
After the meeting there will be an inter branch darts match followed by a social and dance to which all Association members and their wives are welcome. Entrance to the social and dance is by ticket only at £3.50 per person for Entry only or £6.50 for Entry and Supper. Should you wish to attend the social and dance then tickets can be obtained by writing to Mr. Paul Fleming, Sittingbourne Branch Social Secretary, 104 Swantree Avenue, Sittingbourne, Kent ME10 4LF, enclosing your remittance and a stamped addressed envelope.
CANTERBURY REUNION
(Sunday 2nd August 2009)
The Canterbury Service of Remembrance and Reunion (Buff’s
Sunday) will be held this year, 2008, on Sunday August 10th. The day will start
with the “Fall In” at 12 noon, followed by an inspection by the
Association President. The parade will then march to Canterbury Cathedral led
by band of the 3rd Bn. Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment formerly known as
The Kohima Band. This will be followed by a formal service in the Cathedral
starting at 1pm, including an act of remembrance together with the laying of
wreaths at The Warrior’s Chapel. After the service there will be a march
past and a parade through Canterbury and after the parade has returned to Longport
and fallen out, members and their families make their way to Leros Barracks
for lunch and an afternoon of entertainment. For more information and to order

MAIDSTONE REUNION
(Sunday 13th September 2009)
The Maidstone Reunion will take place this year, 2009, on Sunday
13th September and commences in Brenchley Gardens at 10.30hrs, with “Fall
in” followed by an inspection and the laying of wreaths at the War Memorial.
The parade then moves off to All Saint's Church where there will be a formal
service and act of remembrance. After the service members and their families
should make their way to Kent Hall for lunch and for an afternoon of entertainment

SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE AT THE TOWER OF LONDON
(Sunday 6th September 2009)
This parade and annual service, organised by the London (Buffs) Branch of the
Regimental Association has been held in the Tower for many years and is very
much an event for the whole family. The service of remembrance is held in The
Chapel Royal, St Peter Ad Venicular, HM Tower of London, in the Chapel is the
Book of Remembrance, in which are placed the names of those members of the Regiment
who have passed on. It was placed in the chapel in 1946 and was signed by King
Frederick of Denmark, the then Colonel in Chief, and Major General Scarlet.
The Chapel is also the final resting place for the Colours of 1st Battalion
The Buffs that were carried by the Regiment from 1830 to 1848 and were present
at the battle of Punniar in 1843. After the service and parade a carvery lunch
will be held at The Tower Hotel.

CANTERBURY BRANCH CAROL SERVICE:
(Sunday 13th December 2009)
Canterbury Branch Annual Carol service
will be held on Sunday 13th December 2009, at the Franciscan Study Centre, Giles
Lane, Canterbury starting at 14.00hrs. The service is supported by the Invicta
Concert Band which provides excellent musical support for the carollers. After
the service refreshments are available. All association members are welcome.
This is always a great start to the festive season. Further details of venue

BI-ANNUAL BAND CONCERT

Featuring The Kohima Band, by kind permission of the Commanding Officer, 3rd
Battalion The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment This ever popular event
is held in June each year at Leros Barracks, Sturry Road, Canterbury and is
