Last updated 12th April 2010 LAST POST: It is with much regret that we have to inform you of the death of the following members of the forebear regiments:
Major Clifford H. Clark has passed away.He served with 2RWK in Malta (where he won the MC) and as 2IC B Coy in Leros (from which he escaped in an MTB). His funeral will be at St Bartholomew's Parish Church, Burwash, on Wed 10th March at 1100. Family flowers only but donations to RBL, care of C Waterhouse & Sons, High St. Burwash. TN19 7ET. Tel 01435 992219. Mr. Cecil Montague George DURSTON – Died 13 April 2009. Mr. Ron Lampard: Ron passed away on Friday 15th January this year. He was in attendance at the last reunion of the 6th Battalion QORWK Regt.on the 17th Oct, 2009. Mrs. Joyce Balding: Joyce, the widow of Major Charles Balding, passed away peacefully at home in Broadstairs last evening 15th Janaury 2010, aged 92.
Obituaries, where available, for the above will be published in the next issue of the Regimental Magazine, The Journal. THE JOURNAL: The next issue of The Journal, the Regimental magazine for ex members of The Buffs, Queen’s Own, Queen’s Own Buffs and 2nd Bn The Queen’s Regiment will be published in June 2010 Articles, letters, photographs etc for publication in the next issue should be with the editor by 1st November 2009. The Journal is published twice yearly in April/May and October/November and cost £10 per year including postage (UK), Europe (£12) Australia,New Zealand, Canada, USA and Africa (£15) . To subscribe please fill out the Subscriber Enrolment Form THE WARRIORS' CHAPEL: Following on from the need for restoratiuon work on the masonry above the South Eentrance, the Warriors' Chapel will be closed for up to 18 months whilst repair work is carried out. The Books of Life and the bell of HMS Canterbury have been moved to a chapel in the South East transept and the Turning of the Page ceremony will take place there until further notice.
